It is with a heavy heart and a dismal sensation of relief that we announce the departure of two key members in the INBORN! universe after 9 years of ectasy, bliss and trauma. Mostly for personal and artististic differences, Smokey and Jeffrey decided to part ways and focus on other non band-related projects. We’re extremely grateful for the precious moments we shared with these highly talented and diverse individuals, but felt that this is the only reasonable option for all of us in order to grow and take things to the next level.

Everything happens for a reason, especially when you feel entangled in the tidal waves of tomorrow. After our recording session in Venice Beach we stated in an official communiqué that ‘everything we ever associated with this band has been redefined in a radical fashion, leading us to a precise understanding of what the collective known as INBORN! should stand for.’ In no way, could we have foreseen how accurate these words would prove themselves to be.

The last months have shown us that our ‘band’ started leading a life on its own. It’s not about the way we dress, the sounds we produce on stage or the persons we intimately love in the heart of the night. The only thing that matters is the connection we establish with ourselves and the audience. In this specific moment, we all turn into this collective identity that is INBORN! - communicating, sharing and broadcasting electricity on a higher level. There have been moments of unfiltered inspiration on stage, in rehearsals, dream states and conversations that made us realize the beauty of following music instead of leading it. We’re currently working on a new model that will blow your minds and redefine everything our sound stands for.

For the record, Smokey is heading to Berlin to pursue a promising acting career while performing his idiosyncratic dance moves in electronic-duo ‘Lost Weekend’ while Jeffrey moved to Bxl in order to complete his law cycle. We wish them all the best and hope they’ll find happiness in everything they might achieve in the future.

Q : It has been pretty quiet about INBORN! lately, seems as if you were building a mystery or plotting on the creation of a secret society… Regarding your performance at the excellent ‘Out of the Crowd’ Festival, one may wonder what to expect from you guys this time around?

A : Well, we have a little surprise in store for everyone that has been indulging in restless nights of feverish anticipation. Next to the exploration of our new live set which we’re really proud of, the ‘Out of the Crowd’ Festival will provide a unique opportunity for the audience to gather a limited INBORN! collector item. In fact, we’re proud to announce the release of your first 7” vinyl… an accurate format for a previously unreleased track called PARIS (the sequence itself didn’t make it on our american disc and was recorded somewhen in the past, quietly waiting for its turn). You’ll be in for even more extravaganza as the b-side showcases our interest in minimal techno, psychoanalysis and field recordings. Other than being based on a commercial speculation, the single has been elaborated as a gift dedicated to every single one of you craving for more in these melancholy days of repetition and false grandeur. There will be exciting news in the aftermath of the festival, so you should make sure to check out our page on a regular basis!

Building a homebase at ‘The Fiction’
So this is the secret location where all the magic happens… ‘The Fiction’ is the space where our mythologies are created and where all imaginary pleasures are taking shape. As a reaction to the general lamento going on about not having enough rehearsal spaces in Luxor, we installed our homebase somewhere amidst the planturous landscapes of nowhere. This old storehouse has been equipped with a military tent where we perform our sound on a daily basis and represents the perfect platform for further happenings, secret gigs and reactor parties to take place in a near future. So watch out for the new incarnation of Warhol’s factory!

Q : You will be playing in Wiltz on February 4th. What should we expect ?

A : Right now, everything is in motion… At the moment of speaking, we are rehearsing in Germany with a very gifted pianist, who is actually turning more and more into a part of INBORN!
